Rock ‘out’ side!
Posted by jayxem on August 16, 2007

During the summer, aren’t there many days when you’re out hanging out by the pool and feel like something is missing? You have a drink in your hand and you’re just sitting back enjoying the weather. All you need is your favorite music in the background. Well, many people don’t realize that without much stress you could have some speakers outside by the pool or patio. You don’t have to ever worry again about bringing out your old boom box that takes about 12 batteries to power on its own. All it takes is having a decent A/V receiver with multi-zone in the living room and running wires. You could also get a cheap stereo receiver out in the patio to power them. The main brand of outdoor speaks I’d suggest are the Boston Acoustic. They have many models but Voyager Rock speakers are what blend in perfectly anywhere outside. They literally look like rocks and hold up to the weather like you couldn’t imagine. Stop by any local home entertainment department and ask them which would be the easiest way to set yourself up with some nice outdoor speakers for your nice relaxation time by the pool. You won’t regret it especially when you got some friends over and blaring some music while you out enjoy the outdoors.

Sony’s well renown line of televisions sets has been updated and now in stores. That’s right everyone’s favorite looking televisions set have finally been released in local stores. The XBR series has been Sony’s signature series for quite some time now. The new XBR 4 & 5 have the same picture frame design to them. The XBR 4 has a dark grey panel (different color panels available online to interchange) around the set and the XBR 5 has a black piano finish panel (not removable). The only major differences in the both of the sets are that the XBR 5 has an extra 6 months warranty compared to the standard 12 month warranty. Both of the televisions are almost identical in technical specifications. These babies tout the new 120 hertz which allows for motion blur to be improved dramatically. Also the new line has a 10 bit color process which allows for great color and realistic images. These sets have a dynamic contrast ratio of 18,000:1 and standard contrast of 2,000:1.

Orchid in Puerto Rico
Taken by: Nikki Elizabeth, a contributor of Home & Garden Online.
According to The University of Georgia College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, there are “over 880 genera, 28,000 species, and well over 300,000 registered cultivars for orchids”, currently making them the most diverse family of plants known to man.
Orchids are also very adaptable and are known to grow completely underground, on trees, and in other locations. Some of the environments in which orchids may be found include mountains, tundra, rainforests, grassy plains, deserts, and swamps.
